The Dead-of-Night Call

How is it possible for a mother to live with her son for fifteen years and not know him at all?

When the call comes in the dead of night, her heart stops!

Thanks for the thoughtful review:

From the very first page of "The Keepers" the reader is made to feel tension and curiosity and this does not let up throughout the novel. It is easy to identify with the people in this multi-generational family with their many societal and present-day issues.

Although they are basically good people, the family members are constantly challenged by the forces of greed, avarice, jealousy, deception, trickery, and even murder.

Through it all, Goddard's novel is skillfully interlaced with love, romance, tenacity and loyalty. Resilience is ultimately the supreme test. There are twists and turns that keep the reader emotionally involved throughout. It's a great read! I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
